Symphony of Destruction ~ SoD: A Guild of Unrest

A Rebirth

Please bear with us as we are rebuilding and restructuring SoD under new management. This will be a trying process for both the new leadership and the members that have gotten us so far, so we thank you all for your patience and help. Please remember to visit The SOD Forums so that you may contribute your views to the reconstruction effort.

Thank you again, and happy hunting!

Peeking in on the peak..

This evening we decided to venture into Veeshan’s Peak and poke our heads around. After not too much effort, we emerged with two fresh kills under our belt. Congrats on all the hard work and loot, guys! That said, you may see us starting to weave VP into our raid progression. Keep your eyes peeled for more!

Big welcome to all you newcomers, and if you aren’t 80 yet, well.. what are you doing here? GET TO WORK!

Moving On..

It seems as though we’re motoring through the content now, with our most recent kill, Leviathan. Venril was a little tougher, with everything having to be sooo precise, but we’re pretty happy with 10% and we know we’ll down him next Saturday!

We’re still looking for a few select classes, but we’re happy to say we’ve got our offtank! Lets not leave out our 3 new amazing healers, nor all of those folks that have recently reached 80 and are ready to join our raiding ranks. Here’s to a great raiding relationship together! Or something.

Quick, simple update

As most of you know, we’ve been going through many changes and growing pains that come with the territory of a raiding guild. We want to thank those of you that have stuck around long enough to get here; I promise we’ll be uber soon! :)

This coming week we’ll be trying Levi for the very first time. If you don’t know anything about the fight, we encourage you to read up on it (www.eq2i.com or your favorite gaming info website) and be prepared and on time! Nobody wants the gnome (aka Neke) biting their ankles needlessly.

As for the tank challenge, we’re still looking for someone good, someone competent, someone that can raid with us on most or all of our raids. Someone that can knock the agro out of the casters, that smacks the threat right out of a scout, that taunts so fast even the brawlers get jealous of their lightning reflexes. Think you’re up for it? Know someone that is? Let us know!

A Kor-Sha With A Side of Fries, Please!

This week, we killed the Overlord Selrach Di’Zok in Kor-Sha. Congrats to everyone on their updates! It is our hope to do it all over again this coming week, so if you didn’t get your mythical update this past weekend, you’ll have your chance!

You might notice the recent hierarchy changes here in SoD. What does this mean, you ask? Well, it means that Barrelchestbob is now the sole guild leader of SoD. Phantom is now the guild treasurer, which means that he’ll be handling all our financial matters; the selling of the loot, the guild hall rent and amenities and all of that good stuff. So it’s kind of like what he’s done all along, but now he’s got a cooler rank name.

The off-tank challenge is still in effect! Tanks, bring out your inner RAwR! Make us swoon with your insane taunting abilities and awesome reflex times! Amaze us with your ability to hold agro off the crazy AOEers! Show us you can out-tank the over-zealous brigands!

Lots of changes taking effect. New guild and loot rules are being fleshed out. New recruitment policies incoming. Stay tuned for more info!

Tank Challenge

A week or so ago the officers of SoD threw out the Offtank Challange. We need a good, let me emphasize that, GOOD off tank. Due to the sadistic nature of the SOE developers there are several fights that need two tanks, the OT. There are lots of people that are willing to help so if you have been thinking of rolling out a tank or have a tank that you want to fine tune then get into the forums and post.

Several people have gotten their epics this week including yours truly, which would not have been possible without lots of support from people in this guild and some help from Antoncas Nameless. I cant stress enough how important it is to support your fellow guildies, afterall this is what the guild is for, all of us combining our efforts so we can accomplish things that we wouldnt be able to do on our own.

We also have lots of new people arriving so a shout to everyone just commign to SoD, I hope that your stay is profitable and enjoyable.

The forums. I know that many dont want to be bothered with the forums, while i can see who is reading there are only a few who are posting and contributing. There are several reasons for the forums and the webiste in general. First and foremost this is a way for all of us to communicate, we dont all play at the same times other than raid nights and even then many of us arent on. For all of you who need some help getting your Epics and Myths, this is the best place for it. The more people that post the more efficient we can be with our time. Since many of the updates are in the same zones or even for the same mobs we can get several at once. If we have enough people on the list we can set aside a night to work on Epics/Myths and schedule our zones.

Week in Review

Thursdays raid was downgraded due to lack of enough 80’s to try the Temple of Kor Sha. The temple and Venril Sathir are the next up on the raid targeting screen.

Our ability to clear VS will go a long way towards getting our members their mythical weapons on the strength of our own guild. This will only happen when everyone shows up, I was late yesterday but I logged in to let Bob know that I couldn’t make it on time. One of the most frustrating things for the raid leaders is the fact that while we have plenty of 80’s to put a raid together, we rarely get everyone on line at the same time. The assumption is, and this has been put out in the MOTD, is that unless you tell someone that you can’t be there, you will show up. It’s a bit unfair for those that are there on time and every week to have to stand around and wait to see if anyone else is going to log in. Nobody is asking for one hundred percent raid participation but at least allow the raid leaders to be able to schedule raid nights by letting them know if you can be there or not. There are a few threads going in the forums about raid times and days that may work better for everyone, put your two copper pieces in.

The guild bank is full of rares, all donated. If you need a rare for some of your personal equipment then you can get them for half of what the lowest one on the broker is. Remember that these are for personal use only, not for cranking out items to broker.
Please read the crafters forum to see who is making what for the guild

Tier I Cleared! On to Tier II

With the very loud and messy death of Imzok we have now cleared Tier I and in grand style.  Protectors realm went exreamly well and we have had the other zones on smack down status for awhile. So its now off to Venril Sathir and the Overking.  Everyone who has been on the raids should give themselves a pat on the back and gear up for the next chapter.

Everyone should be working on thier Epic/Myth, we arent going to get very far in Tier III without them.  Good news is that if we can do this ourselves we can save everyone some much needed plat, so get to work. Post your zone update requirements in the ‘Hunt Request’ forum so we can knock out several at a time.

PR Cleared!!! Bumrush Promoted!

First of all Protectors Realm went like we have been farming it forever.  Most of the raid was SoD, we had some valuable help from WHAT, next time we rock it with 24 SoD’ers.  Got some really nice gear also, I didnt have my log on so I cant link the loot, anyone who was logging it can send me the loot numbers and I can link them from LootDB.

Congrats to Bumrush on his promotion, Bum has been very active on this board and has some good ideas on how to help us move into the future, everyone give him a pat on the back.

We need some bloggers! Anyone with the gift of text gab let me know, it gets boring listening to me on this front page all the time.  You can talk about anything you want just as long as your doing it on a regular basis.  Also, dont forget that you can leave comments on this page.

There has been good feedback (Neke) on the new layout. I have one more to try and I will switch over sometime this week to give everyone a chance to critique it.

There are some good discussions going on in the Guild Discussion board, everyone should be joining in so the end result is something that everyone likes.

TTFN.

A New Theme

Let me know what you think about this.  I am going to work on the fonts and some of the text arrangemetns until I get it the way I want.  If anyone knows how to modify wordpress themes let me know, I can always use help.
